The AFFILIATE OF THE YEAR AWARD is presented annually to an Affiliate Association of the Nova Scotia Salmon Association for it's leadership and achievements in the promotion of Atlantic salmon and Trout restoration, public education and conservation in the Province of Nova Scotia. 1995 - Pictou County Rivers Association
The Nova Scotia Salmon Association annually grants a scholarship award to any person resident in Nova Scotia who enhances or proposes to enhance by any endeavour the well- being of Atlantic salmon or trout. 1996 - J.P. Kennedy
This award is named after a gentlemen, dedicated angler, hunter and outsdoorman, the late DAVE SYMONDS. Dave was President of the Nova Scotia Salmon Association for 10 years in the mid seventies and early eighties. In 1995, at the age of 56, his family, the community and the angling fraternity lost a good friend. It is in Dave's memory that this award is being presented to an individual who has illustrated outstanding contributions to the sport of angling, promotion of public education, salmonid enhancement, resurrection and conservation of the Atlantic salmon and Trout in the waters of Nova Scotia. 1995- 1996-John Hart The ASF Roll of Honour The Atlantic Salmon Federation's Roll of Honour is presented annually to individuals who exhibit outstanding commitment to salmon conservation at the grass-roots level. The award acknowledges the hard work that is performed on behalf of the Atlantic salmon by the many volunteers within the ASF' affiliate network - the so-called unsung heroes who are the life blood of the salmon conservation movement.
